Day 1-March 31, 2006
Check in for the flight to Taipei was horrible. I was at the end of the line and I was there 2 hours early! I made it to the plane just before they closed the doors. I had to put my carry-on under the seat because the overhead bins were already filled up. The flight took about 11 hours with constant turbulence through most of the flight. They ran out of my first choice when the meals came by but the food was still OK for me. We arrived at Taipei late and it was already boarding time so we had to run to the plane since it was waiting for us. We arrived in Bangkok at around 4 PM. We asked around for either a larger taxi or a van. The taxi was offered at 2000 bahts plus toll fees or 2500 bahts for a van. We took the car. It was a tight fit with all the luggage we tugged with us. We got in the taxi just in time as a heavy downpour just started. It took almost 3 hours to reach Pattaya. We checked into Flipper Lodge Hotel and freshened up a bit before going out for dinner and bar hopping. We ate at Top's on Second Road. After dinner we flagged down a baht bus and headed straight for Walking Street. Our first stop was Beach Agogo. Being a Friday night the club was packed. Our next club was Happy Agogo. Boy, those door guards are strict as they held my camera for safe keeping. I hate it when you got to give up your camera. It's those stupid non-English speaking tourists that ruin it for everybody else. I still didn't see any action with the girls yet. So we went off to Super Baby Agogo. There I tried to call a dancer but she didn't want to sit with me. The other guys left already with their bar fines so I'm alone now. I went into Super Girls Agogo and didn't have any luck there. My last chance was The Sea Agogo. I asked the waitress to call one of the dancers for me. She almost didn't want to come to me but reluctantly sat down beside me. We talked for awhile and then started hitting it off good with this girl. I even bought her friend a drink, too. I finally made the arrangements with her. The going price in 500 bahts for bar fine and 1500 bahts for short time. She was well worth the price. I even got her cell phone number since she'll be off tomorrow because all the bars will be closed due to the Prime Minister of Thailand elections. It'll be a short trip for me and the bars will be closed for the weekend. Only in Thailand!
Day 2-April 1, 2006
I had a hard time getting up early due to my late night romp the night before. I only had about 4 hours sleep and I'm still feeling the effects of jet lag. I finally get up and went to the money changer and then to Tops for lunch. I had pork noodle soup for 30 bahts. I bought some supplies from Tops and then went to the internet café to check my e-mail. Later in the afternoon I went with a friend to a thai massage parlor located in Nakula. There the massage is still a bargain at 100 bahts and the room is much better than Silom massage on Soi 3. After that I went to the Big C to do some more shopping for clothes and food to bring back to work. Next I walked around looking for a cell phone but I couldn't locate any along the way back to the hotel. I didn't have a 10 baht coin on me for the baht bus so I walked back to Flipper Lodge on Soi 8. I rested for a couple of hours before going out to dinner with my friends at Fuji Restaurant in the Big C shopping center. From there we walked into Sabai Dee body massage to look at the girls on display. The body massage parlors were the only entertainment places open today because of the elections taking place tomorrow. All bars and clubs are closed today and tonight. What an April Fool's Day surprise? The next place we walked into was Sabai Room body massage across the street. I finally picked out a girl for my body massage. After the massage I walked back to the hotel and noticed all the beer bars are closed. It looks like a bad night for bar hopping with all the bars closed for the night. I stopped in at the All Day Café internet café to post this report since I had nothing else to do on a boring day.
Day 3-April 2, 2006
Oh boy looks like the nightlife will be closed again tonight for the special elections. That's 2 nights of closure for my short 6 night trip. The first order of business today is eating the breakfast buffet at Lek Hotel on Soi 12. The cost is 110 bahts but the restaurant is open style so there were lots of flies around infecting the food. I hope I don't get sick from the breakfast. I did the usual today like going to the internet café, changing money at the money changer, and walking around. I went to the massage parlor in Nakula again. This time I took the 2 hour massage for 200 bahts. The massage was longer than the 1 hour but it was about 15 minutes short of the 2 hours. No big deal. I just tipped the girl 150 bahts. We ate dinner at Top's and then proceeded for Cherry Bar near Soi 3 and Second Road. The lights were out and no music was playing. I guess it's to appear that they're closed. Next we took the baht bus to Best Friends beer bar. It was pretty much dead so then we went to Soi Pattayaland and went into Crystal Agogo. As soon as I went in there a dancer latched on to me saying she knew me but I knew better than that. I played along and was entertained by her. We left there and then headed into The Sea Agogo. It was business as usual there. I picked up the same girl I bar fined from a couple of nights ago because I didn't get her picture the last time and she gave good service. I took here out to Polo Entertainment Club which is also on Walking Street. The shows have changed since the last time I was there over a year and a half ago. After the show I took the girl to my hotel room for some action.
Day 4-April 3, 2006 Started the day with breakfast at Top's and then went to the money changer. I booked my taxi to Bangkok with Joy Travel on Soi 8 for 950 bahts including tollways. I also reconfirmed my flight home with them, too, for 100 bahts. A little after noon we went to the Big C to see a movie but it already started so we decided to take in a one hour massage at Silom Massage. The massage was a little short and cost 150 bahts. We then went back to the Big C to watch the new Pink Panther movie with Steve Martin. After that I walked around Beach Road and did a little shopping. For dinner we went to Fuji Restaurant again at the Big C. After dinner we went to a bar on Soi 2 since the beer bars were in full swing after 2 days of closure. The bars were really busy as everybody was ready to indulge in alcohol again. Our next stop was Best Friends beer bar complex past Royal Garden mall on Beach Road. Here the bars were also very busy. Next we walked down to Walking Street and visited a new bar complex way down the street. We dropped in at Bouche Agogo and it was standing room only. We drank upstairs since there was no room on the main floor. Our eyes got a treat since the upper floor had a soapy show with shower. My final stop for the night was next door at X Zone Agogo. At least in here we were able to find a seat. I finally caught the eye of a petite dancer and we hit it on. She was my date for the night. Tomorrow will be my final night in Pattaya before heading for one night in Bangkok.
Day 5-April 4, 2006
Woke up this morning a little early since this is my last full day in Pattaya. I started off my day off in an internet café which has a special rate of 40 bahts for 1 hour outside of Top's. The computer here is fast and reliable. I still have to go to the money changer because it was closed earlier. After the money changer I ate my early lunch. My friend wanted to try the Bungy Jump in Johmtien so we hired a baht bus on Second Road to take us there for 100 bahts each way. I took a look at the height of the bungy jump and chickened out. My friend eventually paid for the jump and soon he had a rope strapped around his ankles. He was lifted up to the jump tower and soon I could hear his yell as he leaped off the tower. He did it! He got a t-shirt, a roll of film showing his jump, and a certificate. Good thing our female driver waited for us so we had her drop us off near Soi 3. We went into
Day 6-April 5, 2006
I woke up a little early this morning so that I'll have enough time to eat breakfast and go to the internet café. I'll be eating at Top's for breakfast and then go back to the hotel to finish packing up and check out of the hotel. One of my friends is waiting to move into my room since it's quieter than his. My taxi pick up is at 11:30 AM. The taxi arrived on time and I'm off to Bangkok. There was a lot of traffic along the way there. It took 2 ½ hours to reach my hotel. I checked in and now I'm in the internet café and will eat dinner soon as well as do an errand for my friend. Tonight it'll be my one night in Bangkok routine. Well for dinner I ate at Foodland on Soi 5. After dinner I proceeded directly for Nana Entertainment Plaza to check out the nightlife. My first stop on the new Rainbow 4 on the second floor. I stayed there for about an hour and was ready to leave when one of the dancers waved at me. I called her over and chatted with her for awhile before taking her back to my hotel room. After doing the deed I decide to head back down to NEP to do a little more bar hopping. I went into Rainbow 1 and stayed there for about an hour sitting with one of the dancers. Next I stopped in Rainbow 2 also on the ground floor. I bought a couple of ladies drinks in there to have a bit of conversation while watching the dancers on stage. It was getting late so I went back to my hotel for the early wake up call. I got up when the alarm clock rang at 5:20 am. I took a quick shower and then went down for the breakfast buffet which opened at 6:00 am. After breakfast I went back up to the room to grab my bags and check out. I took the high priced taxi from the hotel and went to the airport. I got there a little late and the line at the check in counters were long. I finally made it to the gate just in time for boarding. As I entered the plane I was thankful for the great time that I had in the short week I was in Thailand.
