Day 1-April 18, 2005
I made it to the Philippines via China Airlines by 4:00 pm. The flight was full so I still felt a little cramped and still feel the effects of jet lag. The pick up at the airport that I arranged through Margarita Station for 2000 pesos was waiting for me. The arrival area of the airport just outside the door changed a bit since last time. You have to walk across the road and then down the ramp and then turn to the left and cross the street where the crowd of people are waiting. Upon reaching Central Park Hotel, I checked in and unpacked my gear. It's nice that they have an in-room safe so I don't have to worry about a safety deposit box in the lobby. Within about 2 hours I was ready to go bar hopping. I walk down Field's Avenue looking at the new bars and decided to grab a quick snack at the swarma stand. I finally decided on going into Brown Sugar first. I don't know why I decided on that particular bar but I went in and sat down and ordered a cali. I was watching the dancers on the stage and then the mamasan asks me if my name is xxxxx. I gave her a surprised look as she knew my name but I don't know hers. She told me that one of the dancers remembered me. She points her out and I'm still puzzled until the mamasan tells me her name is Thess. Now my memory kicks in and yep, it's the very first girl that I met in Stinger on my cherry visit back in April 1993. That was 12 years ago and she's still dancing. I'm thinking oh-no, I'm going to get stuck with a 30+ year old girl for the night. I bought her a drink and we talked about the old days when I used to be her boyfriend. She remembered everything that happened during those ancient times. I ended up BF her and took her bar hopping. Our next step is the new bar Doll House. It's Thailand style just like the one in LOS. It's so different than the usual Angeles City type of nightclub. Our next stop was the Blue Nile. Lot's of dancers and waitresses in there. They all seem to be the stuck up type because they think they are the top of the line girls in Angeles City and it got to their heads. I've heard stories on the AC-2 message board about the runner problems over there and the girls attitudes, too. Next we proceeded to Lancelot Bar which is the old Volcano. I ran into the Mamasan that I knew from way back in the Tahitian Queen days. I gave her a box of chocolates and we talked about how the girl's attitudes have changed in the last couple of years. She confirmed my observations like the girls all have transformed into short time specialists. The girls until a few years ago automatically stayed over night for long time but now they only stay for a couple of hours and take off. No more second and third rounds in the morning. The girls all carry cell phones and they get text messages constantly all night long. I've noticed this from my last trip last year. You take a girl out and she gets text messages and even phone calls every 5 to 10 minutes. It's most likely the expats calling them out for a date or ST. My how things have changed in what used to be a paradise but now is turning into a version of Thailand with ST as being the standard. We went to the Lollipop next and it's actually two bars in one with Ziggy's being on the other side of the stage. You can walk back and forth between the 2 bars without going outside. It's time to take my old timer girl back to the hotel. See, it's happening with her, too. Her cell phone been going off every 10-15 minutes after I BF her. She's always checking her text messages constantly. When I used to know her back in 1993-1995, she didn't have a cell phone or used the internet. In fact, I don't think the girls had those luxuries back then and the girls didn't play the games they do now. Guess what, she ended up telling me she had to leave after we did the deed. This is the first time she ST me and I may have to see her the next day, too. Now I have this situation that I still have to see my girlfriend from the last 2 years as I'm supporting her at this time. Here's the predicament that I'm in. I met my old gf from 12 years ago and she wants me to see her. I have this new gf from 2 years old that I'm supporting and I haven't told her that I'm here yet. I still want to meet new girls but how do you do that when you have 2 gf to juggle and have only about 4-5 days in town to do it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do but I'll have to make up my mind fast. Other things I've noticed so far on this trip is that the street vendors are just as aggressive as before. The costs of drinks and food have gone up considerably. The exchange rate is around 54.40 pesos to the dollar. I picked up some DVDs-one is a regular movie and the other 3 are X-rated Filipina movies. I'll have to see if they work as I have had problems with the adult movies not working. Hair cuts are still a bargain at 50 pesos. A Santos Road (blow row) and Real Street have been paved already. The shacks across the street from Margarita Station are gone and a long building with various shops have replaced them. I'm using the internet café in this building and will try the hair cut a couple of shops down. They're still building a SM store by Clark air base. More reports to follow.
Day 2-April 19, 2005
I had a hard time getting up this morning due to effects of jet lag. I went to the money changer and it's 54.40 pesos today. I bought some DVDs that cost 150 pesos each. I even bought some Filipina X rated movies but I'm not sure if it will work. I buy my usual supply of bottled water and some personal items at the market. When I got back to my hotel room I fell asleep and woke up around dinner time. I ate at Kokomos trying out the Shanghai fried rice. Bad choice-either I wasn't hungry or it wasn't that good. I guess Thai style would have been better. It's already 7:30 pm and the happy hour prices finish at 8:00 pm. This time I hop into Champagne. It's really busy and I'm lucky to find the last available seat at the end of the stage. Lots of girls and customers but the girl's looks have gone downhill since last time. Why is it so busy when the girls don't look so good or is it because all the bars have ugly girls anyway. My next stop was Bunny Ranch. Gone are the bunny ears that the waitress wear. It's three quarters full but not quality of the girls is slightly below average. None of them look good. After that I regretfully stop into Brown Sugar to see my ex-girlfriend again. I must be crazy to commit myself to former girlfriends and take the fun out of meeting new girls. After a few drinks I ended up BF her again. We then began our bar hopping adventures going into Camelot. My gf ordered a Margarita and I find out it's the same price as a ladies drink because it's a cocktail. So either way if I took her and she buys a 125-145 peso margarita, it would come out the same as if I bought a drink for a dancer. Camelot is a clean large bar with a fair amount of average and below dancers. No stunners here. Next we go into Stinger which is my gf's former bar 12 years ago. The location and mamasan has changed since then. There's only about 4-5 dancers on stage and none of them look good. We then went next door to Las Vegas Club. It has a center stage with average and below dancers. We ended up at Treasure Island to close up the place. It's a small bar and you wonder how come they have customers when there's only about 2-3 below average dancers on stage. So far during my 2 nights I haven't really seen anything good on stage. Maybe I was there at the wrong time or they were all taken early in the evening but I can say this-the quality of girls have gone down and all the bars are advertising for dancers. I guess any girl that looks good gets taken off the market quickly. Tomorrow I'll have to let my old gf go and hook up with my new (from 2 years ago that I'm still supporting) gf. It looks like I won't be having the fun I was expecting because I'll be with a gf during my entire short stay in the PI.
Day 3-April 20, 2005
I did the usual thing eating breakfast, exchanging money with the money changer, bought another DVD, and donating to the beggars on the street. The peso exchange rate has gone down from 54.40 to 54.20 now. The beggars on the street are out in force this morning. Once you give one, then they all appear out of nowhere like flies. They're all putting their hands out and trying to get my attention. It's OK to give to a few but it was starting to get ridiculous as they keep following you. I traded some of my t-shirts for the street vendor's t-shirts. I still haven't heard from my gf that I'm trying to contact. I guess I should have given her more warning of my visit but I expected her to check her e-mail more often. I last received an e-mail from her on Monday but I didn't arrive in Angeles City until the afternoon. Now it's Thursday and I still haven't heard from her. Tomorrow is my last night here. After that it's too late. I met an old friend that used to work back during my first visit to the PI in 1993 at the old Temple of Rock. She really looked old now. I met her at Wantok on A. Santos Street. We talked of the old times and I gave her some gifts that I brought for her. I saw some potential BJ prospects on that street and may check it out tomorrow. After a short rest, it was time to eat dinner at Margarita Station. I got a free Cali for filling out the questionnaire about my airport pickup. The prices of food have gone up since last year. My first stop of the evening was Roadhouse. I haven't been there for a couple of years. They changed their mix of music with less rock & roll music and more contemporary tunes. I ended up calling one of the dancers that had a hard time keeping her boobs from hanging below their cropped top. The uniforms were different as it's not the classic bikini type as in other bars. The garter belt adds a little sexiness to the uniform. I ended up buying her a couple of drinks and I had the 2 for 1 happy hour special. They give you crackers with salami and cheese for the happy hour and popcorn after that. I ended up bf her even though she made a story about she can only stay short time because she has to go to Manila. I've heard that story before. I need a change from the last 2 nights of the same girl. I'm still waiting for my first LT. Like I said before Angeles City has transformed into a ST routine as compared to couple of years ago when that was unheard of and LT was expected. After the ST session, I went back out to bar hop since it was only 10:00 pm. I decided to stay away from the Brown Sugar side of town and concentrated on the top end of Field's Ave. I went into Nero's Forum and it's a little busy. There are some that looked OK to BF at slightly above average but nothing stunning. Next I went into Misty's and most of the girls are average at the best. I ended up buying an old waitress a drink that knew me from many years ago. My next stop was Cambodia. The bar has stages on 2 levels. There wasn't anything worth taking out in there. Also, the waitresses kept bugging me from drinks because they were thirsty. That really spoils an evening when the waitresses start begging for drinks. It really turns me off. I went into Pasha next. It wasn't much different in there, too. The dancers were a turn off as well as the waitresses begging for drinks, too. Misty's, Cambodia, Blue Nile, and Pasha are all owned by the same group so they have tequila girls in there just like in Thailand. That was day 3 with only 2 more nights in Angeles City and one in Manila.
Day 4-April 21, 2005
I started the day at the internet café looking to see if my gf e-mailed me but still no answer so it looks like I'm free tonight. The exchange rate is still 54.20 pesos to the dollar. After dinner I stopped in at Dirty Duck and buy a dancer a drink. The waitress said that she wasn't a cherry girl but when I asked her she told me she was a cherry girl. I assumed that she didn't want to go bar fine and bola bola me. Go figure. My next stop was Viper Room. Inside one of the dancers hustled me and after a couple of drinks and lady drinks I ended up bar fining her. She was a little chubby but maybe this could be my first long time of the trip? She wanted to go bar hopping so I reluctantly brought her along. We went into Bed Rock for a drink or two. I decided on this bar to check to see if a dancer still works there as a favor to my friend. They said that she doesn't work there anymore so just as I finished my drink the manager buys us a round so I ended up staying there a little longer. It started getting busy so I left the bar. Bed Rock is a small bar with the dancers teasing by flashing their tits. It was a little bit like that at Viper Room but not as much. Both of those places have average and below dancers. Our next stop was at the Blue Nile. It's really busy in there and we have to share a table with another customer. The line-up of girls there is probably the best in Angeles City but like I said before they all look stuck up and high nose. It was getting late so I took the girl back to the hotel room. A few seconds later I get a phone call from downstairs that my gf is waiting down in the lobby. Oh boy am I in trouble now. I have a bf with me and my gf finally shows up. What a predicament. I ended up telling my gf that I'll explain everything to her in the morning. My bf disappointed me, too, in that she ended up being ST like all the other girls. This proves that the bar girls only want ST now. My gf calls me up early in the morning. To be continued.
Day 5-April 22, 2005
To continue from yesterday's report, I'm with my gf now and got a few things straightened out after she caught me with another girl at the hotel. At the internet café, she was going through my notes and started tearing out pages that had the girl's name of my previous bar fines as well as addresses and phone numbers. She wants me to meet her son and parents today since it's my last day in Angeles City. I reluctantly give in and we take a trike to her house which is a long way away. The driver charged me 100 pesos for the ride. I brought some gifts like t-shirts and chocolates for the family. My gf asked me for 500 pesos to pay for some stuff and then she wants me to take the family to Tuscany water park nearby. All 13 of us hopped into her Uncle's suv and we went to the water park. The admission at 50 pesos apiece came out to 650 pesos. My gf asked me to give 500 pesos to buy some snacks and refreshments. We enjoyed ourselves at the water park for around 3-4 hours. I think I may have a mild sunburn since I wasn't prepared for that adventure. The gas for the trip came out to around 300 pesos. Later they dropped me and my gf off at our hotel and my gf told me to give the family 1000 pesos so they can go to Jollibees. This gf is starting to get expensive for me. After resting for a little while it was time to go out for my final night in Angeles. Our first stop was Doll House. It's a Thailand style club with dancers and then there's the Doll House dancers which do a dance routine. The girls there looked better than the average Angeles club. The next bar my gf wants to go to is Viper Room. I think she wants to see what my last night's bf looked like. I hate that when the girls do that and make me embarrassed. The quality of the dancers is below average with only about 4-5 dancers on stage. We then went to the Blue Nile and it's packed as usual. The line up of girls is probably the best in town. I've never been lucky enough to pick one up but someday I hope I get the chance to do so. We finally finish up at Pasha. There are about 10 dancers on stage and none of them looked good. We then went back to the hotel and she tells me she wants to go to Manila with me. She also wants me to buy a cell phone for her. I'm really starting to get mad now as she's costing me big bucks and this is only for one day. I was better off picking up girls that I don't know even though they are only for ST nowadays. I'm over budget already and I still have my final night in Manila and still have to pay for my hotel room when I check out tomorrow morning.
Day 6-April 23, 2005
My check out time today is at noon. My gf wanted 7500 peso to buy a cell phone. I gave in and told her to be back before check out or I'm going to Manila without her. The bill for the Central Park Hotel for 5 nights came out to around 7000 pesos which included phone calls and airline ticket reconfirmation. The phone calls sure are expensive in the Philippines. I already paid for my hotel in Manila and my taxi ride there as well. The Executive Plaza in Malate costs 1500 pesos and the taxi was booked at Action Travel for 2100 pesos. I decided not to take Fly the Bus for 500 bahts and stay at the Swagman due to it's poor quality rooms. My gf gets back around 11:30 am with her new cell phone. She's already busy playing with it and sending text messages to her friends. The taxi ride took a little less than 2 hours to the hotel. Upon check-in the hotel wanted 3000 peso deposit either in cash or credit card. We rested a little while before taking the short 2 block walk to Robinson's Mall. My gf never been in a shopping center of that size before so she felt overwhelmed. We bought a few items for her to take back home. We also ate at McDonald's at the mall. We went back to the hotel and then rested up a bit before heading out to town. Around 7:30 pm we head out the door of the hotel and there are rip off taxis waiting outside so we decided to walk down Mabini St. a little ways before flagging a taxi going by. At least he used a meter and we head out to Makati. The fare came out close to 100 pesos so I gave him a little extra tip in addition. We are on P. Burgus St. and walk around looking for a bar to go into. We finally decided on Mascara. It's the standard small bar with a few dancers in uniform and GROs. I bought a drink for one of the cherry girl GRO to chat up a bit. The drinks cost 300 pesos for the girl and the customer drink is around 130 pesos. This bar also gives a bowl of popcorn to snack on and make you thirsty. The quality of the dancers is much better than the Angeles City bars. The bar fine in Makati is 3000 pesos and then you negotiate a big tip for the girl. Our next stop in Makati was Hollywood. This bar is similar to Mascara except they don't give you popcorn with your drinks. The girls are real lookers in here, too. Now it's time to head over to EDSA. We
